Mocha's Story

Mocha was literally headed to a high-volume (and low release) animal shelter due to her owner facing a potentially life-threatening situation, and she has been such a good dog that we're glad we didn't have to turn her down. Mocha just turned 4 years old in October, 2023, and she's stellar in many ways: housebroken, good with dogs, cats and children, good off-leash, and knows the important commands. According to her ex-owner, Mocha is not a watchdog, and she experiences anxiety if left alone for lengthy periods of time. This apparently had caused her to try to escape by jumping a 5' fence, chewing and/or digging her way out. We're hoping for an adopter that will have someone home most of the time, such as folks who work from home or are retired, or a stay-at-home parent. A sturdy crate would also be recommended for those times when everyone must be gone at the same time, at least until it's known what to expect.
