Moana's Story
Moana is in a foster home. If you would like to meet her, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.

My name is Moana—yes, like the brave wayfinder who follows her heart across the sea. I may not sail the ocean, but I promise I’ll voyage straight into yours. With my scruffy little face and soft, wispy fur, I look a bit like Tramp from Lady and the Tramp—a tiny adventurer with soulful eyes and the spirit of a mini Irish Wolfhound. I’m about four months old, already growing my big-girl teeth, and I’m expected to be maybe around 65 lb., mixed-breed beauty when I’m all grown.

They call me Mo Mo, and I’m learning the rhythms of this new world every day. I’m mostly crate trained—sometimes I sing a small, baby song when I first go in, but I find my courage within minutes and drift off to dream. I sit patiently before meals and before my leash goes on, and if you work from home, I’ll rest faithfully at your side like a calm little island breeze. I’m potty trained and doing my very best—steady as the tide, even if a wave or two surprises me when our schedule changes.

I like to find my courage in my own time. If you kneel down and let me, come to you, I’ll discover that you are safe—and once I do, my heart is yours. I adore my toys (especially balls!), my cozy bed, and oh, the glory of belly rubs—yes, please, all of them! With a little patience and a gentle spirit, you’ll see who I am meant to be: a loyal, tender, brave little voyager, ready to love you for a lifetime.

Interested in adopting this dog?
Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend.

We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog.

Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!
