Mkali's Story

Mkali is a new owner-surrendered dog on March 13, 2021. She is 16 months old, and a very tall, beautiful girl. She was relinquished because of her high prey drive with cats and a smaller dog, though she has been good with larger dogs. (We have kenneled her with a large male, whom she ignores.) Mkali is housebroken, knows obedience commands, and isn't destructive, but she has a history of resource-guarding which caused her previous owner to be bitten when a treat was dropped on the floor and the owner attempted to retrieve it. This behavior isn't uncommon in alpha dogs and will repeat itself unless corrected by an alpha owner, so we're requiring Mkali to be placed in an experienced adult home.

Please fill out an adoption application and email it to us at dobierescue@earthlink.net You can then make an appointment to meet the dogs that match what you're looking for if we have any appropriate candidates. Male Dobermans are a $300 donation and currently females are $350. Unfortunately we are having a really hard time getting spay appointments and we have to pay more for their surgeries so we have to ask a higher donation to make ends meet. All dogs go home spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and with a collar/ID tag.
