MIVVIE**'s Story

Foster notes on Mivvie: Mivvie is brand new to the shelter and the quietest dog in her enclosure. I'm unsure of her story, but she didn't respond to the name Mivvie. I'd say independent is a great descriptor. She was most interested in being out and sniffing around. She jumped into my car, with the help of treats, and was a great passenger in the back seat. While walking around Carrboro and Chapel Hill, she responded to car traffic just fine and was eager to greet people wanting to say hello. We didn't encounter other dogs, but she did try to dart at a couple of squirrels. Playful puppy energy really came out when she was given a toy! I took Mivvie back to my apartment for a little bit. Although we had walked about three miles, she had no interest in resting. She chased her toy around. The only negative experience came from trying to fix or eat food in front of her. She barked and tried to get up to the counter top. All in all, I had a good outing with Mivvie. She wasn't too interested in me, but then again it was a first meeting. I think a warmer bond would come with time. I wouldn't be surprised if she is younger than OCAS estimates (5 yrs). She's in need of a name she recognizes and/or some attention command, followed by leave it/drop it and some kitchen manners. Nice hangin' with you, Mivvie!
