Misty's Story
~ WAITING FOR A SECOND CHANCE FROM ABANDONMENT INTO LOVE

Misty didn’t come to the shelter the way most dogs do. One day, a young man brought her to a veterinary clinic for a grooming appointment. Misty arrived happy and trusting, got her bath, and patiently waited for her person to come back for her at 1PM, 1:30PM passed, then 3PM.
The vet clinic called the number he had left as contact and the phone rang and rang… but no one ever answered. Days went by, weeks went by and Misty waited, confused and sad, hoping the door would open and her person would return. After 23 days, the veterinarian confirmed what no dog should ever experience: Misty had been abandoned. The vet did everything right for her, she was spayed, medically cared for, and given all the love and attention she deserved. But she needed to be out of the crate where she spent most of her days and the staff wanting a better future for her, they reached out to Claudia and with her soft heart, she opened the shelter doors to Misty.

Misty is about 1.5-year-old, weighs 12.2 kilos, and is a Border Collie mix beauty.

Misty is now thriving and showing her truly sweet personality. She gets along beautifully with women and men of all ages, including young children. She adores her shelter siblings and loves playing with other dogs. She feels safe and confident, and loud noises like heavy traffic, fireworks, or thunderstorms don’t bother her at all. She does good on car rides, even when they’re just for a vet visit. In the shelter, she’s happy to spend her days playing with her dog friends and has no issues sharing her food bowl or toys. She would do best in a home without cats, as she likes to chase them. When it’s time to relax, she enjoys chilling on the sofa to recharge before jumping back into playtime. Misty has already learned some basic commands, including “ven” (come), “vamos” (let’s go), and of course “no.” She’s a gentle soul who deserves a family that will never leave her behind, a home where she’ll be loved not just for a day, but for a lifetime. Misty will be happiest with a family that can take her out for daily exercise, integrate her into their routine, and make her feel truly loved and secure.

Misty’s adoption fee is $550, which includes her flight, spay, vaccinations, and full vetting.
