Sweet, gentle, and incredibly well-mannered, she has an easygoing personality that makes her such a lovely companion to have around the house. She gets along well with other dogs and has a very calm, respectful approach to them. When she was at her first adoption event, she stayed relaxed even when other dogs barked around her. She might watch for a moment, then calmly go back to doing her own thing. Because of her mellow nature, she would likely do best with dogs who have a similar or slightly higher energy level than she does. She settled into her foster home right away and has been fully potty trained since day one with no accidents. She’s also comfortable in a crate and sleeps quietly through the night without barking or fussing. Her energy level is on the lower side, making her an easy dog to live with. A nice 30-minute walk is plenty to make her happy, and afterward she’s ready for a cozy nap. She isn’t very interested in toys, but she absolutely loves being near her people. Her favorite things are soft rugs, comfy couches, and soaking up affection. Big hugs and gentle pets are her idea of a perfect day. She has met children at an adoption event and handled their attention beautifully—calm, patient, and happy to accept pets. While she hasn’t lived with kids in her foster home yet, her gentle temperament suggests she would likely do well in a family environment. One of the things her foster family loves most about her is how polite she is. She doesn’t jump on furniture or counters, walks nicely on leash, and rarely makes a sound—we haven’t even heard her bark, not even when squirrels pass by. She simply wags her tail with the cutest little swing whenever she’s happy. She’s a truly sweet, loving girl who just wants to be near her people. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch, working around the house, or heading out for a short walk, she’ll be right there by your side, happy just to share the moment with you. Fetching Tails Foundation's Adoption Policy

1). All dogs listed on the website are currently available for adoption. We are volunteer-run and will do our very best to respond to your interest in one of our dogs within 24-48 hours. If you have not received a response by the 48-hour mark, please check your spam. 2). The decision to place one of our rescue dogs into either a foster home or adoptive home is not one that we take lightly. We reserve the right to deny any application and may not disclose the reason for denial. This decision is not made on a first-come, first-served basis, it is determined by who would be the best fit for our dog based on their personality in a foster home. 3). At times we have multiple applications on the same adoptable dog - and we reserve the right to stop accepting applications at any point when there is an overwhelming number of applicants for the same dog. This may be the reason you do not see the particular dog on our website or any partner websites, even after submitting an application. If an application is submitted, you should expect a response from us. Process Application – As a potential adopter, you will fill out and submit an adoption application. Your application will be reviewed by an FTF Volunteer, who will contact you within 24-48 hours of submission. Again, please check your spam if you do not hear from someone by the 48-hour mark. Meet If the application is deemed a good fit, the foster/volunteer will schedule a meet with the applicant and everyone in the household. All members of the application household, including dogs, will meet at a secured location decided by the foster and applicants. If a person or dog is over often, they are able to attend as well. Home Checks: After the application has been approved and the meet and greet has been done we will move forward with a home check. ** Please note, if you are in a rented home, we will be contacting your landlord for their approval prior to adoption. If the approval is not written in your lease, we will need written approval from your landlord. Contract If you are approved for adoption, you will be notified and adoption will be scheduled at one of two locations. You will fill out our adoption contract, which details our policies and procedures regarding the responsibility and care of the Fetching Tails dog. At this time you will receive proof of all vaccinations, the microchip number, test results, a rabies certificate, and any additional medical records, if necessary. Adoption Donation When you adopt a dog, you're not buying a pet. Your donation isn't a fee for your adoptee - it's a gift that helps us pursue our mission, save lives, and ensure we can provide care to all the dogs in our program. Senior dog. 8 years and up / $125 Adult or Young Dog. 6 months to 7 years / $375 Puppies. Under 6 months / $450 (Cash or check accepted only on adoption day) Care Provided At minimum, all Fetching Tails dogs receive the following: Fecal tests (and treatment, if needed) Age-appropriate Vaccinations Microchip, which will be transferred to you at the time the adoption is processed with our 24PetWatch chip Heartworm Test (and treatment, if positive) Spay/Neuter Surgery Flea & Tick Preventative (during the proper season) Heartworm Preventative (during the proper season) **Please note the following: 1). We are unable to make any guarantees of the future health, age, temperament, size, or breed of your adopted dog. 2). In the event that the adopter is no longer able or willing to care for the adopted dog, or the dog is no longer a “fit” in the home, the adopter understands that the dog MUST be returned to Fetching Tails Foundation. If the adopted dog is not returned to Fetching Tails, the Foundation has the right to subject a fine and if necessary, will take legal action. 3). Please read over your adoption contract carefully.
