Missie's Story
Missie is a lovely girl of 9 year and 5 months old who has been with us since July and who is now ready and looking forward to finding her new best friend and #furreverhome!
Missie is a friendly girl who is a bit of a "Teacher's Pet". She is an observant girl, and don't let her age fool you as she can also be quite playful! Missie came to us from a home where there were several friends, so we know that she has done well around children, younger dogs, and cats!
She also would prefer to be more of a homebody who gets to relax on the couch or out in the yard than off on adventures as car rides are not her favorite thing.

If Missie sounds like the girl for you, apply today! Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have about Missie or adopting in general to info@fcarpets.org"We're so excited you're interested in adopting a new furry friend! To help us find the perfect match for you and our animals, we're pre-approving applicants.

Here's how it works:

Please start by filling out our adoption application: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=rz1556&method=online_form_html&formid=6
This helps us learn more about you, including which animal you're interested in, your family, any other pets you have, your living situation (owning or renting), and your veterinarian.
We understand that if you don't currently have pets, you won't have a vet reference. In that case, we kindly ask for a personal reference instead.
Why we ask these questions:
We want to make sure we find the best possible fit for both you and the animal.
For renters, we need to confirm with your landlord that pets are allowed, as unfortunately, many landlords in Franklin County have restrictions.
Checking with your veterinarian helps us ensure that our animals receive the ongoing medical care they deserve.
What happens next:
Once we receive positive references from your landlord (if applicable) and veterinarian (or personal reference), we'll contact you to schedule an appointment if you're interested in adopting a dog.
If you're looking for a feline friend, you're welcome to come in anytime during our open hours!
Important information:
Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis, based on the date your application is approved.
We're truly grateful for the overwhelming interest in our animals! Our staff is working diligently to approve applications as quickly as possible. While it may take a few days, most applications are approved sooner.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to find loving homes for our wonderful animals!"
