Miss Tuesday (aka Lemon Pepper)!'s Story

Meet Lemon Pepper — the small Heeler with a heart for people. And food.

Rescued from the streets of Dinuba on Feb 9, 2026 at just 17.4 lbs, she’s now a healthier 25 lbs and still gaining with a likely healthy weight of 28-30 lbs. She LOVES people, thrives on affection, and will happily melt into anyone who offers pets or cuddles.

Age: approx. 7

Breed: Mostly Heeler (DNA pending — possibly a dash of hyena?)

Size: Small and lithe

⭐ Personality
Lem is half snuggle‑bug, half independent explorer. She adores humans, handles crate time well, loves fetch, and can even entertain herself with noise-maker balls and rubber toys she can toss and gnaw.

⭐ Other Dogs & Animals
Her interactions with other dogs are hit or miss. She does best with confident, easygoing dogs who aren’t intimidated by her sometimes intense personality. With submissive dogs and other animals (horses, donkeys, chickens, cats), her “interest” looks like misguided herding instinct.

Ideal home: active, Heeler‑savvy, and likely as the only pet.

⭐ House & Routine
Lem is still learning that the outdoors is the best potty spot. With free access, she does well, but while she uses dog doors confidently, she still needs puppy‑level supervision if the barrier is more than a hanging screen.

She’s very food‑motivated and currently eats three 1‑cup meals (soaked kibble in a slow‑bowl AM/PM, hard kibble in puzzle feeders mid‑day). She drinks deeply and occasionally brings some back up — just part of her work-hard, play-hard style.

⭐ Training
She’s working on recall, “leave it,” and general safety skills. She’s smart, eager, and is responding well to structure and consistency.

Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......visit our website https://siarescuers.org/ to learn more about our rescue group and adoption process.

Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. The dogs shown on this site are in foster homes, we do not have a shelter to visit.

EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!
