Very little is known of my past but given the shape I was in when I was found, less known is better!! BUT, since being in foster care my life is great, and the only missing piece is my very own family!! Foster mom says I would make an awesome fly ball or agility competitor because I run "like the wind" and am able to take those pivot moves so quickly that my foster doggie brothers are unable to keep me in their sights!!! I have found that dog toys are a BLAST to play with once I wear my foster siblings out lol. I'll be honest, it takes me a short while to warm up to new folks but once I do, I'm all in!! Whatever may have happened to me prior to now, it made me very leery of humans, so patience is key when meeting me. I will most likely bark, raise my fur, and back away but if you have treats in your hand it tends to speed up the process!! I could use continued socialization, and foster mom believes that some basic training would help me with confidence building not to mention it would also strengthen our bond! I walk stellar on a leash and enjoy my daily jaunts. It's important to tell you that I have what you humans call "separation anxiety". What that means is that I get very nervous when left alone and will whine/bark. Also, I am a wreck with thunderstorms and will shake and hide so foster mom gives me "doggie sedatives" which seems to help. My foster home has a HUGE sunroom with tons of windows to look out and I seem to be ok when they leave me (with my 2 foster doggie siblings) since I have full access to all the windows. I tell you this so that you are aware that it's something we can try to work on together. Also, my "girls" here at the rescue can give you advice on it as well. Let's discuss my "possible" breed mixes, shall we? No one has a clue as to my actual lineage. Here are the popular possibilities: Yellow Lab bc of my coloring, Carolina Dog bc that is ACTUALLY what I resemble, Greyhound bc of my stealthy/break-neck speed, Husky bc of my independent/loyal nature, and Shepherd because of my "shepherdy" ears. Since we can't be absolutely certain of my heritage, all of this is pure speculation. I am crate trained and enjoy sleeping in my crate at bedtime but LOVE sleeping in bed with foster mom (when she has a weak moment and allows it lol). Since I am past the puppy stage, I have shown no puppy antics such as chewing on things I shouldn't be. I am proud to say that my potty habits are what you would expect from a lady!! Foster mom is very pleased that I have not had an accident since I've arrived. However, keep in mind that a new home will provide new schedules so patience and consistency will be key! I enjoy car rides and visits to Home Depot and Tractor Supply. A home with respectful kids would be great but foster mom says that they should be over the age of 8 due to my energy level. As you can see in my video, I love me some exercise and my pictures show you I also love me some snuggle time. If you have another dog(s) one my size or smaller may be best. Cats?? YUP, I'm fine with them too!!. Anything else you want to know about me???
