Miss Marley's Story

Looks like: Chihuahua
Female, 13 years old (estimated), 12 pounds

Aged to Perfection - $25 Adoption Fee - Meet Miss Marley, the bravest little heart you'll ever love. Marley is a soft spirit with a story that shows just how resilient dogs can be. When she first arrived at the shelter, her nails were so overgrown they curled into her feet, a sign that she hadn't known proper care or comfort for far too long. It's believed she experienced some trauma or neglect in her past, and she carries a bit of understandable caution because of it. Despite all of this, Marley has blossomed and continues to do so.

Once she realizes she's safe, her whole face lights up, and she greets you with full body wiggles. She just asks for a little warm-up time and a kind, patient heart to help her feel secure. In return, she offers gentle companionship, quiet loyalty, and the sweetest little snuggles. Marley would prefer to be the only apple of someone's eye and may do best in an adult only home (or a home with patient and understanding older kids).

Marley joined us from Santa Cruz County Animal Services. She was adopted from there as a younger dog and surrendered back recently in concerning condition. Due to her age and clear traumas, they felt she would do best in the loving arms of a foster home while she waits for her forever family.
