Misha's Story

Misha arrived over a week ago, from the Kingdom of Bahrain. His story is a very sad one: initially discovered by a family in early November, who tried to rescue him from the abuse of children on a beach. He disappeared, and sadly, was found by the same family hiding in their car engine. It wasn’t apparent initially, due to his long coat, that he had suffered severe burns, then requiring several months in the vet clinic with numerous debridement, dressing changes etc. We are so grateful for several supporters who helped with the vet costs and Misha was finally healthy enough to fly to Canada.

Misha is about 15 months old, neutered and fully vaccinated. He is very playful, comical, adores his foster mom and their resident dog and is slowly warming up to foster dad and the adult boys in the home. It will take time for him to build trust with men, as there has yet been much positive interactions with them Everyone who cared for him at the clinic was female, so that has been his only reference thus far. Misha quickly bonded to foster mom Wanda. He adores car rides, visiting the pet store, eats well and is learning all about housetraining. He and resident dog Nady are now best buddies so a home with another dog is preferred.

Misha will soon be looking for his new family and would prefer a home with a yard, another small canine companion and definitely a women in the home who is looking for a dog that will bond quickly.
