Mish Mixed Breed Brunswick, ME

Mish is a 5 1/2 year old mixed breed around 50 pounds. She may some Central Asian Shepard from her looks though she’s much smaller. She’s got their wonderful soft fur. She is very comfortable in her crate for short periods of time. The crate door is left open and she comes and goes inside. She is food protective so she eats in her crate as well. It has become the place she rests and eats and her “safe spot”. She has been perfect with pottying since the first night. She does what she needs to and then finds a shady spot to wait to go in. She goes out every 3 to 4 hours into a fenced pen. She does respond to her name and comes when called. Whether it’s the words or the tone of voice she also responds to No and Good Girl. She is definitely interested in the cat but hasn’t been aggressive. The cat is pretty dog savvy and warned Mish a few times. Mish is much more interested in the chickens. They are penned but like many dogs, if they got loose she might cull the flock. Probably no small animals like Guinea pigs or rabbits either. She doesn’t like to be directed by the leash. She’s okay if she takes the lead but pulls back, refuses to move, and/or lays down if someone takes the lead. This is something to continue to work on. Mish doesn’t bark. This morning the road crew was working and she gave a couple of yaps - that’s it. Mish is a wonderful dog who loves her adult humans!
