Miro

MEET MIRO - A SWEET GIRL LEARNING TO FEEL SAFE

Miro is a 3-year-old sweetheart who is still learning that the world can be a safe and gentle place.

This beautiful girl has been through more than she ever should have, and she has a little road ahead of her. Miro has tested positive for heartworms and will be going through heartworm treatment with Mac's Mission. She'll need her people to be patient with her while she gets through treatment and continues on her journey toward feeling her best.

Miro is a very sweet girl who can be a little shy at times. She is especially comfortable around Da Vinci, and seeing her relax around a dog she trusts gives us a glimpse of the confidence we know is in there. She appears to do well with other dogs and children.

One of Miro's biggest challenges right now is walking on a leash or wearing a harness. It can make her nervous enough that she'll simply pancake to the floor and hope everyone forgets the whole idea. She'll need someone willing to go slowly, use positive reinforcement, and help her learn that being handled and going for walks doesn't have to be scary.

Miro may occasionally jump up when she's excited, but she's otherwise a gentle girl who loves feeling safe and comfortable with her people.

Miro at a glance:
Female | 3 years old
Very sweet and affectionate
Can be shy at times
Comfortable around Da Vinci
Appears to do well with other dogs
Appears to do well with children
May jump up occasionally
Nervous about leashes and harnesses
May pancake to the floor when scared
Heartworm positive - treatment will be provided

Miro isn't looking for someone who expects her to have everything figured out on day one. She's looking for someone who will give her patience, reassurance, and time to build confidence.

Once she realizes she's safe, we believe we'll get to see more and more of the sweet girl hiding behind that shy exterior. And honestly? Those moments when a once-frightened dog finally relaxes, trusts you, and lets you love them are pretty special.

If you have the patience to let Miro blossom at her own pace, she would love nothing more than to find a family where she can finally feel safe and loved.
