Minny Poodle Mix Itasca, IL

Bon Jour! My name is Minny, and I am a precious, mellow 12-year-old poodle/lab mix who is looking for a forever home to call my own. Could that be with you? I am a curvy girl and currently weigh in at about 40 pounds; my friends at Fetching Tails Foundation have put me on a healthy diet so I can lose some of my extra weight and be more comfortable. I have lovely snow-white fluffy non-shedding fur, and my happy, loving face says pretty much all you need to know about my personality: beautiful and affectionate!

My Fetching Tails friends saved me from Chicago Animal Care and Control, where my previous owner surrendered me because they could no longer take care of me. I was heartbroken and confused why I was left behind, but thankfully I got to go to a loving foster home instead of spending any more time at the busy, overwhelming shelter. I am a laid-back lady, and much prefer the quiet calmness of my foster home because I my favorite activity is definitely taking a nice nap, preferably in a sunbeam near a window. Don't let my weight and napping prowess fool you, though, as I also adore leisurely strolls through the neighborhood for some healthy exercise! I am friendly with all people, though because of my age I would prefer a calmer home with older children if you have human kiddos. I also get along with other dogs and just mind my own business around them; I would be content as your one and only canine companion but also wouldn't mind a dog friend who isn't too high energy. I'm not picky! I just want a loving home with lots of comfortable places to nap and get ear scratches!

I have pretty great house manners, as well. I am a quiet girl and do just fine finding a place to relax and get some beauty sleep while my foster mommy is away from home. As an older girl, I do have some health issues I need to tell you about: I have Cushings Disease, which is being controlled with medication and I am feeling much better, and also arthritis in my back legs. Because of my Cushings Disease, I do have to tinkle quite a bit; I know to use a potty pad when my foster mommy is at work and I can’t hold it. I would also prefer a home without many stairs because of my arthritis. But believe me when I say I am an easy-going girl and once you meet me it will be love at first sight! I still have a lot of love to give, and I can't wait to start my happily ever after with the lucky family who chooses me to be their big lovebug! *Be at least 21 years of age
*Live in a 50-mile radius of Itasca, within the Illinois border
*Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household
*Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease)
*Have a valid ID with current address (please provide proof of address if ID address is not up-to-date)
*Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation
*Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment
