Minnie Mouse's Story

Miss Minnie Mouse has the markings to prove how much she loves those ears!

Minnie Mouse was discovered living at an abandoned house and property while setting up a trap to catch another dog that was seen there. After setting 2 traps and a trail cam, along comes a 3rd dog. Once trapped all 3 were brought to a foster for a few days and then made their way to WARM. It is assumed that they are siblings, despite looking quite different, because they are the same age.

Minnie Mouse is extremely sweet, but sometimes she can be a bit nervous with new things. She is great with male dogs only, she is a dominant female. She does great with kids of all ages at events. We think she'd be more than happy being the only dog getting all the attention to herself.

She is also a jumper and fence climber and will require a 6 ft wood or vinyl fence.
Our adoption process requires an application, background check and home visit to be completed before any adoption is approved.

WARM - Waccamaw Animal Rescue Mission's Adoption Policy
To begin the adoption process, adopters are required to fill out an application form. Upon receipt a volunteer will conduct a background check with your current or former veterinarian. If a vet is not listed, please explain why. Once a background check has been conducted and approved, a volunteer will email you to set up a meet and greet with the animal you are interested in. If you are applying for a dog and currently have dogs, we do require you to bring them to the meet and greet so that we can see if they will be a good match together. If all goes well with the meet and greet, we then schedule a home visit. It is important that we approve the environment where our adoptees will live the rest of their lives. It's equally important that they meet other animals that live in the same home. Once the application, meet and greet, and home visit notes are reviewed by the Board of Directors, a volunteer will contact you regarding approval or non-approval. We appreciate your kindness, understanding, and patience in this process. Please remember we are volunteers doing this in our free time, so the process can take up to a week or more depending on our volunteers and your schedule. We can't stress enough that these animals have been through a lot in their lives before they came to the rescue. Their well-being comes first. It is very stressful for an animal to bounce from home to rescue to home to rescue, etc. Our goal is to find them their forever home and to not end up back in the system or ever have to relive what they’ve already been through.
