Minnie Mouse's Story

All interested people should submit an adoption application as their first step.
Meet Minnie

Minnie is a sweet little low-rider with a big personality and an even bigger heart! At approximately one year old, she’s a fun mix of puppy playfulness and mellow, easygoing charm. Our best guess is that she may be a Lancaster Heeler/Dachshund mix, and whatever her mix, she’s absolutely adorable.

Minnie LOVES people and is happiest when she’s getting attention, affection, and plenty of love. She also enjoys playing with other dogs and would be thrilled to have canine friends to romp around with. Once playtime is over, though, Minnie is pretty content to lounge around and relax. She’s a fairly mellow girl who doesn’t need to be on the go all the time.

Like any young dog, Minnie is still working on a few things. Her housebreaking is coming along, but she’s not quite 100% there yet. When she gets bored, she may also find something to chew, so she should be crated when left alone for longer periods. She can get a little mouthy at times, too, but that’s very normal behavior for a dog her age and something she’s learning to outgrow.

The good news? Minnie is otherwise a wonderfully easy dog to have around. She walks well on leash, loves everyone she meets, enjoys other dogs, and has a naturally sweet and affectionate personality.

If you’re looking for a lovable little companion with short legs, a gentle nature, and lots of love to give, Minnie may be your girl!

All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped.
The Greater Derry Humane Society does not have a physical shelter, and all visits are by appointment only.
