Minnie 's Story

Meet Minnie! Minnie is approximately 1 year old and is an unknown mixture, but appears to have physical traits of possibly American Staffordshire Terrier and Border Collie? Without a DNA test, we can't guarantee her breed mixture, but we can tell you that she is Pure Bred fun!

Minnie was surrendered to another shelter when her owners had to move and couldn't take her with. Unfortunately, she was experiencing an extended stay in the other shelter (we can't imagine no one wanting that cute face!) so we brought her to our shelter to give her a change of scenery.

Minnie was immediately friendly and happy to meet us. She was curious and ready to explore everything! She's got such an enthusiasm for life, so we're hoping to find her an owner who is just as adventurous and can include her in daily exercise. If you're looking for a jogging, walking, hiking or exploration buddy, Minnie is your girl! (that being said, she does need help learning how not to pull on leash, but that can definitely be resolved with training and consistency)

Minnie is super smart and already knows some basic commands, but she's ready to learn more! She's still a pup, so her adopters should expect all things that come with adopting a young dog like potty training schedules, chewing phases, basic obedience & manners training, and all of the other life stages she'll go through. She should do well with other dogs and children as long as everyone is properly introduced and supervised. We do not know if she's ever met a cat. We were told that, with her previous shelter, she went on several "Doggy Day Outs" with volunteers and rode well in the car! She loved to be out on sniffaries and she's ready for more. What a little honey she is!

If you're looking for a nice medium sized companion for the upcoming year, Minnie is ready to meet you! She is spayed and up to date on vaccines. We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been generally approved:
https://www.co.monroe.wi.us/home/showpublisheddocument/35564
*Please email this back to monroecountydogshelter@gmail.com

Her adoption fee is $200
