Meet Minnie

Minnie was born in June 2020 and came to us from a local shelter after her family no longer wanted her.

Minnie enjoys the great outdoors and swimming! We have been practicing SMARTx50 by Kathy Sdao. Anytime she offers good behavior she gets a treat, praise, or both. When swimming or removing branches from the creek, she checks in voluntarily we give her a treat and praise. When we say "easy" she knows she is getting close to the end of the leash. We make coming when called fun and rewarding and she loves it. We call her "Good Girl" and she likes that a lot.

Minnie is crate-trained. She loves her toys and chasing balls although she hasn't mastered the fetch and return part, lol. She is smart and ready to learn. She will thrive with an active family and would love to go swimming and cani-crossing.

If you are interested in ADOPTING or FOSTERING, please complete an application by cutting & pasting the following link:
https://form.jotform.com/60794585351161

Or visit ***CHAAMP.org*** to access the Adoption/Foster link and learn about the process. https://www.chaamp.org/adoption-process

Your application tells us about your lifestyle and helps us find a potential match for you and your family. We are happy to work with you. For example, if you don't have a fence, we can help find alternatives and/or a dog that will do well without a fence.

A home visit is required prior to adoption/fostering. You can visit the malamute(s) once you've completed the process. Alternatively, you may volunteer and learn how rewards-based training brings out the best in malamutes.

CHAAMP accepts applications from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC.

ADOPTION FEES
~Senior dogs (8+ years old): $100.00
~Adult dogs (2 years up to 8): $300.00
~Puppies (6 months - 2 years): $350.00
~Puppies under 6 months: $375

All Malamutes are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up-to-date on vaccines. Puppy fees are higher due to more vet visits and vaccines. The adoption fee helps us cover these costs.

CHAAMP is a proud rescue member of the Pet Professional Guild. We say no thank you to Shock, Prong, Choke, Pain, Force, and Fear. We understand safety is important to prevent being pulled by malamutes who were born to pull. We are happy to share options and other equipment to help you both be safe.

CHAAMP is a Rescue Affiliate Member of the Alaskan Malamute Assistance League (AMAL). For a list of AMAL rescues in the USA and Canada: https://www.malamuterescue.org/
