Minnie's Story
Minnie came into rescue with another dog after they were dumped. Our regular foster had taken them in temporarily and stated that they were severely matted and a mess. She shaved them in the worst spots and their coats came in darker in those areas. She then contacted us to take them and find them homes. We believe that Minnie is a labradoodle or a doodle of some kind. She will be 2 years old in early May..Minnie is a sweet, gentle girl who has the cutest quirk of mouthing and snapping her teeth together ((almost like a little chatter). She enjoys playing with the other dogs and is learning the ropes of being a house dog. She is really doing quite well in the house and has not chewed anything or gotten into the trash or on the counters. She serms to prefer being outside most of the time but that will probably change once it gets hot and unbearable outside. She is fairly calm and easy going. Her coat will need care so please plan on regular grooming to keep it looking its best. Minnie has not tried to jump or dig out of a fenced area so she should do well being let out into a secure fenced area. She has been doing well with pottying outside but we never guarantee that any of our dogs will be fully housebroken. She is good with kids and other dogs. We are not sure about cats as we have none but she would probably be fine with proper introductions. She does not seem to have a high prey drive and is pretty mellow. She rode pretty well in the car to her vet appt so if you travel or like to go out and about, she should be a good traveling companion. Overall, Minnie is proving to be a wonderful dog who will make a nice addition to any home/family.
Minnie saw the vet on 3/9/26 and was found to have no health issues. She tested negative for heartworms and has been started on Simparica Trio for flea control and heartworm prevention. She tested positive on her fecal for hookworms and has been given a Drontal to treat the hooks. She may require a follow up in 3 weeks. Minnie received her year rabies and DA2PP vaccinations. Minnie weighed 38 pounds as of 3/9/26.
If interested in giving Minnie her forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Minnie's adoption fee will be $400 to help cover the cost of her vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Minnie based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for her, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
