Mini's Story

Meet Mini! This little lady has been through so much and yet remains the sweetest soul.

Mini was brought to a shelter by someone who claimed to have found her as a "stray" at an abandoned properly. The finder became extremely agitated and vanished when the shelter had a few more questions. Shelter staff scanned her microchip, called the registered owner, and lo and behold…it was the same person who had brought her in.

Mini faced several medical challenges during her first few weeks with us as a result of severe neglect. We've been able to address them and get her started on a special GI diet, and now this tiny independent queen is thriving in her own little orbit. Her foster mom keeps trying to help her become one of the group, but Mini simply floats off to find her own bed ~ usually in the office, where she appears to be answering emails none of us can see. Maybe she’s a workaholic. Maybe she’s antisocial. Maybe she knows something we don’t.

Mini gets along well with the other dogs in the house but isn't into socializing with them - she prefers to tuck herself into an out of the way bed in a quieter corner. While she's an independent woman, don't be mistaken - she loves snuggling and cuddling with her people.

Mini lives with megaesophagus, a condition where the esophagus doesn’t move food down properly ~ so she needs a raised bowl, slow meals, and a little extra care to help keep things where they belong.

Mini deserves nothing but peace and love in her golden years. We can't wait for her forever family to find her and spoil her.

Mini is approximately 13 years old and 5 lbs.

Fostered in Rockville, MD
Please apply at MirisHaven.org
