MINGO's Story

Sweet Sensitive Mingo
i'm an 80 lb labrador approx 7 years old. A very mean human dumped me deep out in the country on a road frequented by semi trucks with no sidewalks. I was very angry, and it was 110 + degrees outside. Many people stopped to try and help me, but i didn't trust people anymore. The ladys at Mercy Sakes Rescue after many failed attempts to trap me, finally used a sedative to get me rescued without being injured by a passing truck. When I came into their program, I was resentful and fear aggressive for the first week before i realized that they were there to help me. Since then, I have learned SO much and i'm a happy and very sensitive big boy. I like other dogs as long as they do not rush up on me or jump on my face as it scares me. Small kids scare me too. I do not like loud noises or things that move too quickly. The girls that care for me think that I was just used for breeding and never lived in a home until they came along so everything has been new to me over the last year. Although I have learned A LOT about being an indoor dog, change scares me too and I require a bit of a transition slowly into a new situation. My favorite things in life right now are food, treats, and belly rubs. I live for cuddles and naps especially if a human is petting me and letting me melt like a big old puppy. I am curious about felines but haven't shown aggression toward them. I think i'm ready to start meeting new people and see what kind of home is out there for me. a retirement home if you will. I will be a pretty easy guy to care for as long as your gentle and patient with me, i will stay and be your loyal buddy. i am located in tulsa OK but can be adopted anywhere in the united states. I have been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and am undergoing heartworm treatment at mercy sakes rescue. my adoption fee is $100.

if you'd like to meet me, please go to mercysakes2ndchancerescue.com to submit an application for a meet and greet to ask any other questions.
