This pretty girl is Minestrone. Minnie, for short. She's a brand new face at FDHS, and her story is a heavy one.<br/><br/>Minnie, her puppies, and her friend Pho were found abandoned at Independence Dam State Park. It's obvious that months of neglect had taken their toll on this little family. Their skin and coats were painfully damaged. They were uncomfortable, worn down, and in need of some serious help. <br/><br/>Minnie was in the worst shape of them all. Her skin was severely inflamed. Patches of fur were missing. Scabs covered her scrawny body from constant itching. And when she first arrived, she carried the saddest expression. <br/><br/>Since coming into our care, she has made such an improvement! With medication, gentle hands, and a clean place to rest, Minnie is already beginning to heal. Her body is improving, but it's her spirit that stands out the most. She is a gentle soul with the kindest eyes. A little timid at first, but once she feels safe, she leans in for love like she's been waiting for it her whole life. <br/><br/>Minestrone keeps her kennel spotless. She walks nicely on leash. She has been nothing but gentle with staff and seems friendly with other animals. Despite everything she has endured, Minnie remains sweet, and trusting.<br/><br/>She still has healing to do, but she is on the right path. And now, she's ready for the next chapter.
