Minerva's Story

This tiny 7-year-old Chihuahua is 8 pounds of sweetness, charm, and squeaky-toy enthusiasm. Minerva arrived at ECPR after a long rescue journey and is now ready for a forever home that will cherish her gentle spirit and support her ongoing medical needs.

Minerva is a low-energy girl who lives for cozy laps, soft beds, and quiet companionship. She does well with other dogs and cats, though she prefers to keep her toys to herself, and would do best in a home with adults or teens 15+. She’s comfortable in her kennel, adapts well to apartment living, and is content with short, simple outings — leash and potty training will still be a learning process for her.

This little lady has several long-term medical considerations, including protein-losing enteropathy, heart valve disease, and some kidney monitoring needs. She’s stable, comfortable, and feeling good, but will need a family committed to keeping her on her prescription diet, her medications, and her recommended vet check-ins. In return, she offers endless snuggles, polite companionship, and her signature move — celebrating every squeaky toy like it’s the best thing she’s ever seen.

Minerva may be small, but her heart is huge. She’s looking for a calm, loving home where she can feel safe, supported, and adored for exactly who she is.

If you’re ready to give this special girl the soft landing she deserves, Minerva would love to meet you.

Call 206-557-4661 to get started on the adoption process and find your new FUREVER FRIEND today! Our screening process starts with a survey that is completed over the phone, and then moves on to an in-person meet and greet if it seems like a good fit for both the adopter and the pet. If the meet and greet goes well, you have the option to fill out a contract. We then complete reference checks and schedule a visit to your home to ensure that everything is compatible with the pet's needs and our requirements.
