Mindy's Story

We do not know how long Mindy and Molly (her sibling) were alone in an abandoned house. Luckily their tragic situation ended with caring people that rescued them and brought them to safety. They were cold and hungry but both received the best care possible and now they are ready to start the next step of their journey. Mindy is a mixed breed gal, at around 7 months old and weighs around 30 pounds. It is estimated that her full-grown weight will be a number somewhere under 60 pounds. It is easy to understand from her past that Mindy is shy and can frighten easily. She will need slow introductions and initially a slow living pace for her to become comfortable with new surroundings and people. Time and patience will be rewarded when Mindy breaks out of her shyness to find her inner confidence and fill the part of a great canine companion. As a young gal, she still has lots of puppy energy to make a suitable play partner to other dogs and children. She looks forward to learning the ropes with an abundance of toys and attention. She has not been introduced to a cat since coming into rescue. With so many changes in her life, it is not surprising that she is learning her skill set of crate and leash training. She will be very appreciative for her family showing her how to be a great house dog. Mindy has already mastered her house training and she knows he new family will appreciate her learned skill. Although she is housetrained, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. As with all puppies, Mindy is full of curiosity and wonderment and is ready to grow from adorable puppy to an amazing dog with the right guidance and patience. She will need a home with someone who has the time, desire and energy to train and socialize her so that she can become the perfect lifelong companion. The sky is the limit with Mindy because she has unlimited potential. Her hopes are high and her love is great. Be the family that takes her in to make her a loved and appreciated canine family member. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Mindy is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours.
