Mincemeat's Story

Desi's litter was born on November 21st. There are 4 girls and 2 boys. Mommy Desi , pictured here, is a beagle mix. The father of the litter is unknown. Desi was rescued already pregnant from a high kill shelter so we do not know what breed mix the father was. Some of the puppies have rear dewclaws and some do not. Desi does not have them. We believe they will be medium to large when fully grown. We believe some may have long hair as well. We really are guessing here on the mix, but we know they have the herding breed in them. They nip at our heels when we come in and that is part of the herding breed traits. We are guessing them to be Bernese Mountain dogs /beagle mixes.

Mommy Desi continues to nurse them. They are also on Royal Canin Medium Breed Puppy food, and have been, since they were 4 weeks old. That is why they are so chunky. They have been dewormed every two weeks since birth. They are all very well papetrained. Due to their thick coats they get warm very easily.

They are all very social and seek out human interaction as often as possible. They are a quiet group and not whiney. They wrestle and play chase with each other. They enjoy all sorts of toys. The entire litter is very focused on one thing at a time, again very true to the herding breed. They are food motivated and these two factors will make them easy to train. They are incredibly intelligent.

Mincemeat is the smaller boy. He is black and starting to get some Auburn as well. He is always up for playing with his siblings. It's always a race amongst them as to who can get to their foster Mom first and Mincemeat always wins. He has dewclaws on both his rear feet.

On January 13th, they will receive their set of vaccines including Bordetella. They then will be ready to go to their adoptive homes.

A fully fenced yard and a Veterinarian compliance history is mandatory in order to apply for Mincemeat. Only available to residents of Ontario, Canada.

If you wish to apply for Mincemeat, please
visit barksandmeows.ca for an online application.
