Milton's Story

Mr. Milton, the good boy!

Hey guys! I am Milton, and I am a perfect 4 year old, male neutered Spaniel mix about 27 lbs. I have had a bit of a ruff past. I was hit by a car in TJ and I laid there suffering for 6 hours.....till someone with a heart came along with a blanket, pillow and pizza. I was lucky to be rescued by TAP and that's when I discovered true love, at my foster home. The care has done me good and I have responded by being a good boy with pawfect bathroom, home-alone and leash manners. Just hold on to the leash when around birds. ;)

I have an ocean of love in my heart and my sweetness with gentle demeanor has been making me friends with all the people that I meet. I am a wonderful cuddler and a delight for those holiday cuddles. I get the happy taps when it's mealtime and I bounce in circles! I don't love dogs being up in my face since my shelter time, and I am learning to ignore them on walks. I'd prefer to be the only dog at home, really. I love to go on walks, runs, and be active with you! No cats for me please as I have displayed a prey drive and chase cats! I am taking Carprofen (~$21.00 for a month's supply, price will vary based on market value and where purchased) and Gabapentin (~$5.00 for a month's supply, price will vary based on market value and where purchased) to effectively manage neck pain and sensitivity due to disc compression.

I am muzzled trained and have a dislike of being carried or picked up. I like to have my space advocated for and to be respected when frst getting to know me. I would absolutely love an adult only home, as long as there is plenty of love and cuddles! This guy needs to be spoilt with attention and snuggles when I solicit them. I am a mellow kinda guy, except the mealtime hops and walkie jumps. If you think you can be my pawfect family, we must meet up! My adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

The Animal Pad's Adoption Policy
We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane. Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational. All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times. All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise. Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000. Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc. Adoption Application: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
