Milo's Story

FAST FACTS:
*Walks like a dream – loves walks and is rarely reactive to people, dogs, squirrels, or rabbits
*Well-mannered – potty trained, crate trained, knows sit, down, bed, paw & more
*Polite at home – doesn’t go on furniture, happy to snuggle or relax on his own bed
*Affectionate & gentle – loves giving kisses, takes treats softly, bonds quickly once he feels safe
* Dog-friendly – can live with another pup or be your one-and-only
* No Cats For Milo
*Healthy & resilient – survived parvo as a puppy; allergies are easily managed with daily meds
*Respectful with kids – best with older children who understand boundaries
* Active & balanced – enjoys jogs, fetch, and play, but equally loves downtime with his people
* 8 Years Old & 70lbs

Meet Milo!
Milo is a 70-pound sweetheart with a heart as big as his paws. This resilient boy has already overcome a lot—he bravely survived parvo as a puppy, and while his first family decided they were too busy for him, Milo hasn’t let that dim his spirit. He’s ready to start fresh and find the forever family he truly deserves.

Milo has the perfect mix of energy and affection. He loves his walks, and he’s a dream on leash—rarely reactive to people, dogs, squirrels, or even rabbits. He also enjoys jogs, fetch sessions, and romping in the yard, but he’s just as content lounging after a good stretch of exercise. He’s wonderfully well-mannered—both potty and crate trained—and knows plenty of commands like sit, down, bed, paw, and more. Milo travels well in the car, takes treats with the gentlest touch, and is a toy enthusiast through and through.

At home, Milo is polite and respectful—he doesn’t go on the furniture. While he loves giving kisses and snuggling close, he’s just as happy curling up on his own bed right beside yours. He’s dog friendly and can happily share a home with another pup, though he’d be equally content soaking up all the love as your one and only. Milo does have some allergies, but they’re easily managed with daily medication and don’t slow him down from enjoying life.

Because of his lack of socialization in his previous home, Milo can be a little reserved with new people at first. But once he knows he’s safe, his gentle, affectionate side shines through—his foster mom got kisses within 20 minutes of meeting him! Because of his past, Milo would do best in a home without young kids, but he can thrive with older children who understand and respect his boundaries. He also deserves humans who are home often; he spent too many long days crated before and is ready for a life full of love, attention, and adventure.

Milo has been through so much, but his spirit remains gentle and loving. If you’re looking for a loyal walking buddy, a snuggle partner, and the best-mannered dog you’ll ever meet, Milo is ready to be your forever friend. Could you be the happy ending he’s been waiting for?

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS
*ADOPTION FEE: $125
*Be at least 21 years of age
*Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household
*Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease)
*Have a valid ID with current address (please provide proof of address if ID address is not up-to-date)
*Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation
*Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment
*QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR POLICIES? Fetching Tails Foundation's Adoption Policy
1). All dogs listed on the website are currently available for adoption. We are volunteer-run and will do our very best to respond to your interest in one of our dogs within 24-48 hours. If you have not received a response by the 48-hour mark, please check your spam. 2). The decision to place one of our rescue dogs into either a foster home or adoptive home is not one that we take lightly. We reserve the right to deny any application and may not disclose the reason for denial. This decision is not made on a first-come, first-served basis, it is determined by who would be the best fit for our dog based on their personality in a foster home. 3). At times we have multiple applications on the same adoptable dog - and we reserve the right to stop accepting applications at any point when there is an overwhelming number of applicants for the same dog. This may be the reason you do not see the particular dog on our website or any partner websites, even after submitting an application. If an application is submitted, you should expect a response from us. Process Application – As a potential adopter, you will fill out and submit an adoption application. Your application will be reviewed by an FTF Volunteer, who will contact you within 24-48 hours of submission. Again, please check your spam if you do not hear from someone by the 48-hour mark. Meet If the application is deemed a good fit, the foster/volunteer will schedule a meet with the applicant and everyone in the household. All members of the application household, including dogs, will meet at a secured location decided by the foster and applicants. If a person or dog is over often, they are able to attend as well. Home Checks: After the application has been approved and the meet and greet has been done we will move forward with a home check. ** Please note, if you are in a rented home, we will be contacting your landlord for their approval prior to adoption. If the approval is not written in your lease, we will need written approval from your landlord. Contract If you are approved for adoption, you will be notified and adoption will be scheduled at one of two locations. You will fill out our adoption contract, which details our policies and procedures regarding the responsibility and care of the Fetching Tails dog. At this time you will receive proof of all vaccinations, the microchip number, test results, a rabies certificate, and any additional medical records, if necessary. Adoption Donation When you adopt a dog, you're not buying a pet. Your donation isn't a fee for your adoptee - it's a gift that helps us pursue our mission, save lives, and ensure we can provide care to all the dogs in our program. Senior dog. 8 years and up / $125 Adult or Young Dog. 6 months to 7 years / $375 Puppies. Under 6 months / $450 (Cash or check accepted only on adoption day) Care Provided At minimum, all Fetching Tails dogs receive the following: Fecal tests (and treatment, if needed) Age-appropriate Vaccinations Microchip, which will be transferred to you at the time the adoption is processed with our 24PetWatch chip Heartworm Test (and treatment, if positive) Spay/Neuter Surgery Flea & Tick Preventative (during the proper season) Heartworm Preventative (during the proper season) **Please note the following: 1). We are unable to make any guarantees of the future health, age, temperament, size, or breed of your adopted dog. 2). In the event that the adopter is no longer able or willing to care for the adopted dog, or the dog is no longer a “fit” in the home, the adopter understands that the dog MUST be returned to Fetching Tails Foundation. If the adopted dog is not returned to Fetching Tails, the Foundation has the right to subject a fine and if necessary, will take legal action. 3). Please read over your adoption contract carefully.
