Milo's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Milo! The goofy lovebugMeet Milo!

At nearly 4 years old and 74 pounds, this German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix is here to rewrite everything you thought you knew about these breeds. Milo isn’t your high-strung, always-on-the-go working dog—he’s the perfect blend of playful, easygoing, and deeply affectionate.

Think Shepherds need a strict routine? Not Milo. He’s happy to roll with real life. Missed a walk? No problem. Want a laid-back 20-minute stroll or a casual outing? Milo is all in. While he enjoys playtime and having canine companions to romp around with, he doesn’t require hours of intense exercise to be content.

Does he need a “job”? Only if you count being your loyal sidekick. Milo loves learning new things and practicing his skills, but he’s just as happy without a formal task—as long as he’s spending time with his people.

And forget the stereotype of being wary with strangers. Milo is a social butterfly who warms up quickly—usually with the help of a treat or two—and is always ready to make a new friend.

What really makes Milo special is his big, sensitive heart. He’s incredibly affectionate and has no concept of personal space, often squeezing himself as close as possible just to be near his favorite humans. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be part of everything you do. Gentle and emotionally in tune, Milo may even give himself a little “time out” if his feelings get hurt during play—he’s truly a soft soul.

Milo is looking for a family who enjoys including their dog in everyday life—whether that’s relaxing at home, going on easy adventures, or continuing to help him learn and grow with kind, compassionate guidance.

If you’re searching for a loyal companion who’s equal parts loving, playful, and wonderfully unique, Milo might just be the perfect fit for your family.

Check out his Instagram @AdoptMilo_SVPP to see this loyal sidekick in action (or not). 5/22/26 10:38 PM
