Meet Milo – The Sweetest Little Retiree with a Heart of Gold <br/><br/>Milo is an 8-year-old beagle gentleman who recently hung up his “career hat” as a breeding dog and is now ready to enjoy the good life — long naps, tasty treats, soft beds, and all the backyard sniffs his heart desires. Weighing in at just under 20 pounds, Milo is a petite guy with a big heart and the sweetest soul.<br/><br/>After living most of his life without the comforts of a home, Milo is learning what it means to be part of a family — and he's making progress every single day. He's curious and observant, and while he's still a little unsure about being touched, he loves to follow his foster mom from room to room like a quiet, loyal shadow. He's especially happy to come say hello when treats are involved (be sure to keep your fingers tucked, though — his vision isn't the best, and he sometimes gets a little overenthusiastic about snacks!).<br/><br/> The good stuff:<br/><br/><br/> <br/> Milo is house-trained and will ask to go outside like a true gentleman.<br/> <br/> <br/> He walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys calm strolls to sniff and explore.<br/> <br/> <br/> He comes when called (most of the time!) and is a great pack member — he loves the company of other dogs.<br/> <br/> <br/> Milo comes with the standard beagle transmission - fast trot and fast asleep. He loves napping in his kennel, napping in the backyard, and napping in the bedroom on his favorite pillow. <br/> <br/> <br/> He's up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and had several bad teeth removed, so he's feeling much better now.<br/> <br/><br/><br/> A few extra things to know:<br/>Milo has had a couple of seizures in the past, but they are well-controlled with daily medication. He's also currently being treated for heartworms, and he'll need monthly heartworm prevention going forward — no biggie, just a little extra TLC for this deserving boy.<br/><br/>Because Milo is still getting used to human affection, he would thrive in a quiet, patient home with adults or older children who understand the value of slow progress and gentle encouragement.
