Milo's Story

Milo is the kind of pup who enters a room like it is the best day of his life and you are the reason why. This young pitbull is bursting at the seams with joy, curiosity, and big teenage energy wrapped up in a solid, snuggly body. He loves hard, plays hard, and feels everything in full color. There is nothing halfway about him. When he is happy, his whole body wiggles. When he bonds, it is deep and devoted. Milo is not subtle, and he is not low key, but he is incredibly genuine. He is the kind of dog who will look at you like you hung the moon and mean it.

HISTORY
MIlo's DOB is July 4, 2025. He comes from a family where he has been raised with a female littermate. Their family has made a great effort to treat them as individual dogs and prevent littermate syndrome.

Milo is located in Kennewick, in Eastern Washington. We share information about our dogs in postings based in other cities to improve their chances of finding a great forever home. He is well worth a road trip, and we encourage you to come and meet him before you decide he should join your family!

SOCIALIZATION, TEMPERAMENT AND TRAINING
Milo is a lot of puppy stuck in a big dog body, and he has no clue how big he is. He is bouncy, enthusiastic, and always ready for whatever is happening next. He greets life head first and heart wide open. With his people, he is affectionate, playful, and deeply engaged.

He currently lives with young children and does well with them, but he would prefer a home with older children where there is less chaos and unpredictability in his environment. He has also been raised alongside his female littermate, and the two have been intentionally managed as individual dogs and not a team. They were crated, trained, walked, and fed independently. While he has an established relationship with her, he has struggled with unfamiliar dogs. Because of this, we are seeking a single-dog home where he can continue to mature without the pressure of navigating new canine relationships.

Milo is an older puppy, which means he is officially entering the doggy teenage stage-also known as the "I forgot everything I've ever learned but I'm still very cute" phase. Think of it as his goofy middle school era. He may test boundaries, get distracted by a leaf blowing across the yard, and have opinions about things he didn't notice before. It's all normal, temporary, and honestly pretty hilarious. With consistency, patience, and fun training sessions, he'll grow right through it and come out the other side an amazing adult dog.

HEALTH STATUS
General info
Milo is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, sterilized, and dewormed. He appears to be in good health. Once full grown, he will likely be somewhere in the 50-70 lbs range.

ADOPTION
The adoption fee for Milo is $425.
Our process starts with an online application and may take a few days to a week to complete. We appreciate your patience while we do our part.

To apply to adopt Milo, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/HAWA-A-95, or email hearthfireART@gmail.com and request an adoption application form.

HART dogs live in foster homes, not in a kennel facility. To respect our fosters' privacy, we make our dogs available to meet adopters only after an adoption has been approved.

HART (Hearthfire Animal Rescue Team)'s Adoption Policy
All our pets are in private foster homes. HART does not have a facility. For this reason, we introduce pets to potential adopters only after the adoption application has been approved. Our process involves: # A detailed application form, which must be submitted electronically # An online background check # Reference checks (calls to your vet, landlord, and at least two personal references) # Interviews with all the adults in the home (and, if the pet is intended primarily as a child's companion, we talk with the child) # A home visit, conducted at our discretion by a member of HART or a trusted rescue colleague Most of our pets are located in the Tri-Cities (Kennewick/Richland/Pasco) in Eastern Washington, and we place pets only in homes within the Pacific Northwest. As needed we may arrange for a trusted member of our team to transport a pet to an adopter, at the adopter's expense. We do not ever release pets to a third party for transportation; we personally introduce every pet to their adopter. HART is a registered 501(c)3 charity. We depend on adoption fees and donations to continue serving our community. We do not have an office or facility, and our team is made up only of volunteers. Our entire income goes to helping animals.
