And he considers it his full time job to guard both your lap and your honour.<br/><br/>Milo is young, neutered, and all of his vetting is complete. He is healthy, ready, and has a lot of life ahead of him. He has medium energy, loves to play, and then happily melts into your arms for a long cuddle session. He thrives on closeness. This is not a dog who wants to be “independent.” He wants to be involved.<br/><br/>He does not enjoy a crate and he does not enjoy being left alone. Milo will do best in a home where someone is around most of the time, or where he can tag along for daily adventures. If you are looking for a tiny sidekick who believes you are the centre of the universe, this is your guy.<br/><br/>He is house trained and uses a doggie door like a champ. He walks well on leash, mostly because he refuses to let you out of his sight. He is good with other dogs, though food should be managed thoughtfully. He can live with cats.<br/><br/>Milo does guard food and can be protective of his person, so he needs confident, kind leadership with clear boundaries. He should not live with children. He is spoiled. He knows he is small. He will absolutely try to run the show if you let him. But with structure and consistency, he is deeply loyal and incredibly loving.<br/><br/>He would prefer a securely fenced yard, especially since he is small enough to find the tiniest escape route. He does not require another dog. He does require attention.<br/><br/>And one more thing. At night, Milo likes his head covered while he sleeps in your bed. Yes, really. Myrtle Animal Rescue and Sanctuary's Adoption Policy
Application Process: All prospective adopters must complete an adoption application, providing detailed information about their household, lifestyle, and experience with pets. Applications will be reviewed to ensure the adopter and the animal are a good match. Home Visit: A home visit may be required to verify the environment is safe and suitable for the animal. Meet-and-Greet: Approved applicants will be invited to meet the animal in person. If applicable, other household members and pets should also participate in this introduction. Adoption Fees: Adoption fees are required to help cover medical and care expenses. These fees are non-refundable and vary depending on the animal's age and medical history. Spay/Neuter Policy: All animals will be spayed or neutered before adoption. Exceptions will only be made for medical reasons, with a binding agreement to spay or neuter later. Health and Vaccination: All animals will be up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and cleared by a veterinarian before adoption. Contract: Adopters must sign an adoption agreement, committing to the responsible care of the animal. This includes providing proper shelter, nutrition, medical care, and companionship. Return Policy: If the adopter can no longer care for the animal, the animal must be returned to the rescue. Rehoming the animal independently is not allowed without the organization’s consent.
