Milo's Story

Milo is a 1–2 year old Beagle/Herding Dog mix who came to HERO after landing on the euthanasia list at a rural Kentucky shelter. Once a very scared boy, Milo has blossomed into a happy, social guy who loves everyone!
Car rides? Absolutely. Milo loves them so much we're pretty sure he'd be willing to drive if you'd just hand over the keys.
Doggy daycare? One of his favorite places! Milo loves other dogs, including small dogs, and would enjoy having canine friends in his life.
Those herding-dog genes do occasionally kick in. Milo may decide his dog friends need to be herded into position, and he's also been known to offer a correction when he believes someone isn't following the rules. Apparently, Milo appointed himself daycare management.
Milo is crate trained and house trained, and he walks nicely on a leash with a harness. He's an active, affectionate young guy who would love a family that includes him in their adventures.
Because Milo can get excited and sometimes expresses that enthusiasm with jumping and playful mouthing, we recommend a home with older children.
Milo has come such a long way and is ready for the best part of his story — a family of his very own.
Could Milo be your new best friend?
Apply at HeroHounds.org/adopt See less
