Millie's Story

💗 Meet Millie – The Sweet, Silly, Sunshine‑Filled Lovebug! 💗
Millie is a young, happy, affectionate girl who came into the shelter with her buddy Duke after they were found together with no microchips. From day one, she has been nothing but gentle, loving, and eager to connect with people. She’s the kind of dog whose tail never stops wagging, whose whole body wiggles with joy, and who rolls onto her back the moment she trusts you enough to ask for belly rubs.

Millie is heartworm negative, fecal negative, vaccinated, and recently spayed. She came in with some tummy issues and a rash on her belly, but with vet care, medicated washes, and lots of TLC, her skin has healed beautifully. She jumps in and out of the car easily, walks well on leash, and loves exploring outside. She can be a little anxious in the car at first (yawning, lip licking, whining), but she settles with time and reassurance. She’s observant, curious, and wonderfully goofy — one minute doing pitty frog legs, the next rolling in the grass with her feet in the air.

Millie is excellent with other dogs. She adored being reunited with Duke, has walked beautifully with other shelter dogs, and handled a crowded community event like a total pro. Even when other dogs barked or growled at her, she stayed calm and nonreactive. She also did fantastic with children, including two girls (ages 11 and 12) who gave her lots of attention. Millie loved every minute of it. She enjoys meeting new people, soaking up affection, and being part of the action. She’s playful, silly, and incredibly people‑oriented — a true lovebug who wants to please and stay close to her humans.

If you’re looking for a sweet, social, affectionate companion who loves belly rubs, sunshine, toys, and being by your side, Millie is your girl. She’s ready for a family who will cherish her, laugh at her goofy antics, and give her the love she’s been waiting for.

If you are interested in adoption, please apply using this form: https://form.jotform.com/242678624959172

Note: FONAA does not own any animals, but we partner with rescues, community fosters, and the North Augusta Pound in promoting animals available for adoption. Animal Control, the rescue adoption coordinator, or the community foster will make the final decision on adoptions, but we are happy to answer any question.
