Millie's Story

Meet Millie! 🐾
Hi there! My name is Millie, and I’m a sweet Shepherd mix puppy born around 12/5/25. I’m just getting started in life, and I’m already showing everyone what a very good girl I am!
I’ve been settling into my foster home and doing a great job—I've only had a couple of accidents (pretty impressive for a young pup, if I do say so myself!). It took me a few days to feel comfortable in my new surroundings, but once I warmed up, my fun and playful personality really started to shine.
I get along wonderfully with other dogs and kids, and I absolutely LOVE having doggy friends to play with! I’m currently having a blast with my foster mom’s pups while I wait for my forever family. Because I enjoy canine companionship so much, I’d really love a home with another dog who can show me the ropes, play with me, and help me keep learning and growing.
I’m looking for a family who will continue to help me become the best dog I can be—maybe with fun adventures, playtime, and lots of love. In return, I promise to bring joy, laughter, and plenty of puppy cuddles into your life!
If you think I could be your perfect match, please submit an application through Placing Paws Rescue. I can’t wait to meet you!
💕 Love, Millie

If you are interested in one of our puppies, the first step is to go to our website and fill out an application. https://placingpawsrescue.org/applications/dog-application/

BEFORE CONSIDERING A PUPPY FOR ADOPTION: Please keep in mind that puppies need attention during the day. They need frequent potty breaks, playtime, socialization and often a mid day meal. Please consider your daytime schedule before applying for a puppy.

SPAY/NEUTER POLICY: Our adoption fee covers the puppies spay or neuter at our vet in Libertyville. If the puppy is adopted prior to the spay or neuter being done you will be required to bring the puppy back to our vet within 30 days for the surgery.

ADOPTION FEE: $450.00 The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations including rabies, HW test if age appropriate, de-worming, microchip, fecal, spay or neuter, Heartworm and flea and tick preventative.

ADOPTION PROCESS: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application online at www.placingpawsrescue.org.
Once we review the applications, those applicants that are thought to be a good match will be contacted as quickly as possibly. We ask that you please be patient with us as we are all volunteers. Then a telephone interview will take place, references checked and a home visit will be conducted. We will then arrange for you to meet the dog. We require that all family members, including current dogs meet the dog prior to adoption. We put all of the known information in the animals description. If the animal is listed on the website, we are still accepting applications for that animal. We only remove the animal when the final adoption paperwork is signed. The best way to contact us is by email at placingpaws@yahoo.com. It is very difficult for the limited numbers of volunteers to return all calls. Thank you.
