Meet Millie

Millie is the sweetest little girl ever! She is around 4-5 years old and just 15 lbs. She appears to be a purebred Mini Aussie.

Millie was found as a stray in Texas, and ended up in a small town shelter where no dog should ever be. She went to the shelter and shockingly, nobody ever came to claim her as their dog. She sat and waited, and when nobody came, Farfel's was reached out to to give this girl a new life in Colorado.

Farfel's Texas rescue partner was very pleased to find that Millie is very healthy, cuddly, playful, and loves other dogs. They made the collective decision that the greatest home they could imagine for Millie would be in Colorado. Farfel's was contacted (we were thrilled!) and a transport ticket was issued for this wonderful girl.

Millie is just gorgeous! She has a stunning long coat that you just want to pet her and tell her how beautiful she is. Her coat is currently shelter-sad and could be much more soft and shiney with commitment to periodic baths/brushing and excellent nutrition.
5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are recommended for excellent general health and to keep her coat silky-soft and very healthy.

Most of the time these rescue dogs have not had any training. Unfortunately we do not know Millie's background, as she was found as a stray.
A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young girl whose self-esteem will fly high while she masters her skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice.
Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area.
Our training requirement is to help every adoption be successful.

Millie is up to date on her vaccines, heartworm tested (negative) and spayed.

Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
