Millie's Story

Meet Millie, a 3-year-old Retriever mix who is equal parts smart, silly, energetic, and sweet. She's the kind of girl who can turn a quiet afternoon into an adventure in about 3 seconds flat.
Millie has been waiting not-so patiently since July of 2024, for someone to see just how much fun life with her could be. She was originally found as a stray puppy back in September 2023, and has been in and out of our shelter since.
She is incredibly smart and eager to learn, but she is also a girl who needs some direction. Millie is looking for a dog-savvy adopter who is willing to continue working with her on training, manners, and obedience. She's been putting in the work through our Pawsitive Pawgress Program and has made great progress. Her adopter will also receive three free training sessions to help keep that momentum going at home.
Once Millie gets those famous zoomies out, you get to see the other side of her personality. She is a genuinely sweet girl who loves spending time with her people and has so much love to give.
Millie would do best as the only pet in an adult-only home. She needs someone who understands that her energy and intelligence are a big part of what makes her special, and who is willing to give her the structure and consistency she needs to thrive. Her adoption may require multiple meet-and-greets so that we can make sure she and her future person are the right fit.
Millie has been waiting for a long time, and we know there is someone out there who will appreciate her goofy personality, keep up with her energy, and love her sweet side just as much.
Can't adopt her? Please share!
