Stay tuned for more updates and photos as she settles in.

PupFax: Millie
Adoption Status: Available for Immediate Adoption
Medical Status: Cleared
Location: Greater Portland area - temporary foster home
Rescue Intake Type: Rescue partner/international

At-a-Glance Stats -

Age: 2 years (approximate)

Breed: Mixed breed

Size: Medium

Weight: 45 pounds (Approx. last weigh-in)

Sex: Female

Spayed/Neutered: Yes

Vaccinations: Up to date (core vaccinations)

Microchipped: Yes

Personality & Temperament:

Energy level:

Home & Lifestyle Fit -

People: Good

Dogs: Good

Cats: Unknown at this time

Activity Level:

Ideal Home:

Training & Manners -

House/Potty Trained:

Crate Trained:

Leash Skills:

Commands Known: Unknown at this time

Food/Treat Motivation:

Health Notes -

Overall Health: Good

Known Medical Needs: N/A

(All known medical and behavioral information is disclosed prior to adoption.)

What Millie Is Looking For:

What We Know & Why We Love Them (foster/volunteer/staff feedback): Foster Update 1/8/26: "Milly has continued to show us what a special, people-focused dog she is. From the start, she has bonded very closely with her humans and clearly thrives on connection, attention, and being near her people. She is incredibly affectionate, warms up quickly to visitors, and has been wonderfully patient and gentle with our kids.

Milly's biggest strength is also the area where she'll need the most thoughtful placement. She tends to form strong attachments and can become jealous or possessive of her people and the spaces she associates with them. Because of this, we're starting to feel that Milly may do best as the only dog in the home, where she can feel secure without needing to share her people or personal space.

Outside of this dynamic, Milly has been a joy to have around. She's well-mannered in many everyday situations, settles nicely, and has shown that she can coexist calmly in shared environments when clear boundaries are in place. Her preference is simply to have her humans to herself.

For her continued success, Milly would benefit from an adopter who understands dogs that are deeply human-oriented and who can provide consistent structure, clear expectations, and a home environment where she can truly relax without feeling the need to guard her relationships. She is a loving, loyal girl with so much to offer, and we're confident that with the right match, she'll thrive as a devoted companion."

Foster Update 1/5/26: "Update on Millie... Aka the teddy bear. She has a very sweet and mild temperament. Quickly warms up to people and wants to be with her people at all times. She is super affectionate and will ooz into anyone on the floor or try and sit in your lap. She is quickly mastering all the stairs around here and shows to be a learner with basic skills like leave it and sit. She did great in her crate last night and slept through the night without a peep. Super snuggly and her bear like coat makes her so lovable."
