Milk Dud 's Story

Meet Milk Dud!

Milk Dud is an incredibly sweet and lovable boy, easy to fall in love with! This 5–6 month old retriever mix puppy is already about 35 pounds of pure cuteness, with a handsome face and a happy, playful spirit that’s just waiting to fully shine. He will probably be around 50-60ish pounds full grown.

Milk Dud didn’t have the easiest start, spending much of his early life in a boarding kennel with limited socialization. But through it all, one thing remained constant—his love for other dogs. They are his comfort, his confidence, and his happy place. Because of this, Milk Dud must go to a home with another dog, ideally one who is playful and friendly. Having a canine companion helps him come out of his shell and truly be his best self. He’s even good with cats!

While he may be a little shy when meeting new people, it doesn’t take long for his sweet personality to emerge. Once he trusts you, he becomes incredibly affectionate and loves to be close—especially if it means cuddle time. He’s a gentle, loving boy who just needs a little patience and reassurance to blossom.

Milk Dud is still a puppy, so he’s learning all the basics of home life. He’s crate trained, doing well with house training (though occasional accidents can happen as he adjusts to a new routine), and he’s working on his leash skills. He’s a smart pup who is very treat-motivated, which will make continued training both fun and rewarding. He also loves to run, play, and get his zoomies out in a yard.

Because of his initial shyness, a home with children over the age of 10 would be best, where he can feel safe and not overwhelmed as he settles in.

Milk Dud is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and will come with a health certificate. With the right home—one filled with patience, love, and a playful dog buddy—this handsome boy is going to grow into an incredibly loyal, joyful companion.

If you’re looking to add a sweet, dog-loving pup to your family, Milk Dud might just be your perfect match. He’s here in NH waiting for you!

https://www.livefreerescue.com/adoption-application
