Miles's Story

Meet Miles (formerly Willie), aka "Miles Smiles"!

Miles is a one-year-old miracle pup with a heart as big as his grin. After being pulled from a high-kill shelter and briefly adopted - only to be returned the very next day - Miles spend months waiting for someone to see his potential. It's truly a miracle he's still with us today, and now he's ready for his forever family.

Miles is a smart, affectionate, energetic young dog who is eager to learn and eager to love. He has already mastered potty training and confidently uses the dog door like a pro! He is also crate trained and settles in nicely. This happy boy thrives when he's included in family activities. Whether you're hanging out in the yard, going for walks, or relaxing at home, Miles just wants to be part of the action. He loves to "patrol" the house and yard, keeping an eye on his kingdom. Because of his past, Miles is still learning that food is no longer scarce and that he does not need to guard it. He is currently fed separately and is making progress. His future family will need to continue supporting him with mindful feeding routines and positive reinforcement.

Miles has bee doing well with children, though he's still working on remembering that little humans can be easily knocked over by an enthusiastic young pup. He's learning not to be heavy-handed in his excitement. Miles loves playing and hanging out with both dog and cat house mates.

Miles is at that perfect age - past the tiny puppy stage but still young enough to grow and bond deeply with his forever family. With structure, love, and inclusion, he will absolutely thrive in just about any home.

If you're looking for a loyal, joyful companion who will greet you with a smile every day, Miles Smiles is ready to meet you. Could you be the happy ending this miracle boy has been waiting for?
