During the 4 months that I was there, I saw a lot of friends coming in, but never making it out. That is why I am grateful for every day of my newly found freedom. I guess you can say I was a ‘shelter puppy.’ I grew up in a kennel, with other dogs barking all around me. At 3 months old, I was taken to the shelter because my previous owner was hospitalized. I was kept there with the hope that my owner would recover and come back for me, but that didn’t happen. In the middle of October, I was put on the euthanasia list because of space issues at the shelter.

I have been rescued now and I am living the good life! I show a lot of love to my foster family, with tail wags and kisses. I will try to make you smile everyday, too! I’m happy, energetic and full of love. I promise I will be a ray of sunshine in your life.

My eyes have a way of drawing humans in with warmth and kindness. In addition to being motivated by belly rubs and affection, I'm very interested in treats, and will learn commands if you have treats ready for me. As a puppy, I will need some basic obedience training to help take my manners up a level. I hope you will invest in me, because I have so much potential to be YOUR BEST GIRL ever. I'm proud to share that I’m fully potty trained and always do my business outside like a good girl. I’m also crate trained. Once I get all my energy out, I will happily sleep in the crate.

I love to play and get along great with other dogs—my pack mates are my best friends! I’m still a puppy at heart, so I really love to chew and play with toys. Make sure you’ve got plenty of toys for me. I hold them in my mouth and love running around with them. I also love frolicking around in the backyard and going for walks or runs with my foster family. Do you like to jog? I would be so happy to be your jogging buddy. Since I’ve lived at the shelter for so long, I'd like to explore more. I want to see what a beach is, I'd like to go to a dog-friendly restaurant, maybe even a camping trip?

My perfect home would be with a fully fenced backyard for me to run around in and release all of my boundless puppy energy. However, what matters the most to me is your heart. If you have room for me in there, then I will be okay with any living space as long as you are prepared and happy to take me on many walks and runs.

I hope you are ready for some kisses and cuddles? I sure am!

*Side note from ACZ - There are a lot of kind, young and eager to please dogs like Mila at high kill shelters all across California. The state is truly going through a 'dog crisis.' Please adopt a shelter dog and save their life, literally. They just want love and nothing more.

***To adopt Mila please fill out an application at www.animalcarezone.org/mila. At the bottom of the page you will see an apply button.
