Mila's Story

NOTE: We update our posts daily. If you are reading this, we are still accepting applications. We will NOT respond to "is she available" inquiries.

Meet beautiful Mila. She is 4 years old, weighs 27 lbs and is an Australian Cattle Dog Mix. This girl has the most beautiful smile.

Mila is one of our true rescue heroes. She is a San Bernardino City Shelter survivor and a Distemper survivor. She fought two battles and won them both.

When Mila was at the shelter, the volunteers fell in love with her. They rallied behind her, advocated for her, and fought tirelessly to save her life when she landed on the euthanasia list. Today, shes here because people refused to give up on her, and now were determined to find the family that never will.

Mila is a sweet, affectionate girl with so much love to give. She absolutely loves to play fetch, carries her toys around proudly, and is always happy to earn a treat (shes very treat motivated!). She lives peacefully with several other dogs and gets along wonderfully with the entire pack. She enjoys being brushed, loves affection, and is pee pad trained and goes potty outside with pack too.

Like many rescue dogs, Milas past is unknown. Because of that, she can be a little nervous when meeting new people or experiencing new situations. She isnt being difficult, shes simply learning that the world can be a safe place.

What Mila needs most is someone who understands that trust is earned. With patience, kindness, and consistency, she blossoms into the loving, loyal companion we know she is. She doesnt need someone to fix her, she just needs someone willing to let her move at her own pace.

Mila would thrive with an experienced dog owner who believes that rescue dogs deserve the time and grace to heal. Once she trusts you, youll have a best friend for life.

If you would like to adopt this beautiful girl, please submit an adoption interest application found on our website www.jointhescars.org under forms.

*PLEASE READ: Traditionally, we personally respond to each submission received.
