Miko's Story

Hi there! Let me introduce myself. My name is Miko. I am a one year old Chihuahua mix looking for my furever home. I did have a home with my mom and fur sibling, but sadly, my mom passed away. River Rouge Shelter took me in so NBS could take over and help me find my new family. My foster parents say I have stranger danger. I think it is because I didn't meet many people when I lived with my original person. I now love my new people, but I still get a little scared meeting strangers and I bark at them. I try to look scary, but I am mostly bluffing. With a little time and slow introductions and a few treats, I warm up quickly and will stay by your side. I have a few small foster siblings. I love to play with my sister Daisy. We play with toys together and love to chase each other. I am good on a leash and love to be outside and take walks. Some may say I’m a “Velcro” dog. I don’t care to be alone for too long and want to stay close to those I love.

I would do best in a home with older children. Because I can bark at times a condo or apartment will not be the best fit for me. Please contact NBS to be put in touch with my foster parents if you have any questions.

If you feel like this pet might be a great fit for your home, please visit
www.nbsar.org to submit an application.
