Mikey's Story

Hello everyone,

Mikey is a recent addition to our Coastal K9 Pack. Mikey is a big boy who is so grateful to have a second chance. Mikey was picked up as a stray with a broken leg. Unfortunately the broken leg didn't received the proper care it needed and his leg healed on its own. As a result, Mikey shows a bit of a limp after use. Before arriving at Coastal K9, Mikey spent a short time in a foster home. He did well overall, but was returned because he and the resident cat didn’t get along. At the shelter, he passed his dog-to-dog test with other large dogs, and once he settles into the rhythm of life at the Ranch, we’ll work on finding him the perfect Coastal playmate.

Stay tuned for more information about Mikey.

Please visit http://www.coastalk9gsr.org/ to learn more about our dogs. Don't forget to fill out our online application: https://www.coastalk9gsr.org/applications. The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.
