Mikey's Story

Adoptable dog alert, meet Mikey! He's a Hairless Chinese Crested with handsome white and brown coloring. He's neutered and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly preventatives. Mikey is heartworm positive and undergoing treatment, his adopter will receive the medication needed to complete his treatment.

We know Mikey is SO CUTE, he has particular needs and requirements for his fur-ever home. Make sure you read his full profile on our website before applying, we only post summaries on social media.

Mikey checklist for his fur-ever home includes:
- Confident dog sibling, he's a copy cat
- No shared walls, he's a singer
- Walking enthusiasts
- Breed experience
- Adopters ready to continue his heartworm treatment!

Mikey is essentially a puppy. Like most puppies he'll need patience, support, and continued training to ensure his success in the world. Given his temperament, heartworm status, a home with breed experience is a must. He needs a home ready to continue his heartworm treatment and understands that they must limit his activity for his continued healing.

While he takes a moment to warm up to other dogs, he'd do best with a confident and calm canine companion. Mikey has met cats and ignored them, when he's passed kids while out walking he's ignored them as well. Given his size and sass, he'd do best in a home with adults or teens. Since Mikey goes potty on a leash, he doesn't require a yard, though he'd enjoy one.

Read Mikey's full profile and submit an application on our site: www.fawnssmalldogrescue.org/adoptable-dogs/mikey

All of our dogs are fostered in and around Jacksonville, FL. Fawn's Small Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
If you are interested adopting please fill out our adoption application. Potential adopters must be 21 years or older. Adoption donations range from $175 to $500 and are based on the individual dogs and their age, needs, and medical expenses (paid out while in our care). ALL adoption donation fees go to our foster dogs and their veterinary care and needs. This empowers us to continue saving lives. Fawn's does a veterinarian and reference check. Your application will be denied if the animals you own are not properly vaccinated, neutered and spayed, and up to date on their heartworm and other preventative medications. We do our best to select the family and home that we feel is ideal based on the unique needs of each dog. Our adoption process includes a Home Visit which we complete as a part of the Meet and Greet. At the end of the Meet and Greet, those who pass the Home Visit have the opportunity to sign the adoption contract and begin their 7-day pre-adoption trial. This is to ensure that you have found the right fit for your family. Review our adoption process: https://www.fawnssmalldogrescue.org/adoption-process
