MIKEY 's Story
Mikey is simply amazing but it takes time for him to let his guard down and trust. He came to us by way of the dog shelter - completely shut down, in total flight mode, and reportedly “very dog aggressive” according to the person who turned him in as a stray (but was likely his owner). Although not suitable for the adoption floor at a county dog shelter, there was something we noticed beyond the fear in his eyes that said “give him a chance” and so here we are. Mikey quickly adapted to his foster home - no dog aggression issues with anyone he has met of any size or personality, 150% housebroken and not in need of a crate, LOVES anything that involves a leash or a car ride and very much a Velcro dog. It took Mikey several days to eat, several more days to not panic when taken outside to potty (as if he doubted he would ever be allowed back in once he went out), and even more time to show his foster mom his goofy side and his tricks but now it’s as if he has been with her forever. We estimate Mikey to be 6-8yrs old, about 70lbs and a beautiful Shepherd mix. Adoption fee $200

If you would like to meet MIKEY please complete an application for adoption, copy and paste this link into your browser

https://fs17.formsite.com/adoptionscc/form1/index

Any vaccinations/boosters due after adoption is finalized will be the new owner's responsibility. All animals are current at time of adoption but in some cases a booster series is required or a vaccine cannot be given due to age and cannot be completed prior to adoption

Our adoptable animals come to us from various sources, the most common being from an animal shelter who is unable to handle their physical or mental needs in the shelter setting but believe with the appropriate care, they can become adoptable.
