He’s got the legs of a basset, the energy of a lab, and the appetite of a professional food critic. If you’ve got treats in your pocket, Mikey will find them. He’s working on his snack etiquette (gentle treat-taking is a work in progress) because of this, we do think Mikey would do best in a home with children over 12. Mikey is going to need a quiet home where he can live the slow life and take it easy. This sweet boy tends to get overwhelmed in a busy place pretty quickly. <br/><br/>He’s playful, affectionate, and firmly believes laps were made for sitting, even if you’re mid-task. Mikey’s the kind of dog who’ll keep you laughing, keep you moving, and keep your snack stash under constant surveillance.<br/><br/>Approximate Birth Date - 08/08/2023<br/><br/>Size - Medium (27lbs)<br/><br/>House Training - Mikey has overnight accidents but keeps his kennel clean during the day so we do believe he's house trained! <br/><br/>Other dogs - Mikey is dog friendly! <br/><br/>**In Order to adopt an unspayed/unneutered dog from HSMC, You must live within an hour of the shelter. You will initially "Foster to Adopt" the dog and then the adoption will be finalized when they are brought back for their spay/neuter surgery. You will need to bring the dog back for vaccines and exams prior to their spay/neuter surgery**<br/><br/>Our adoption fees vary, Shelter Dogs are $180, Prison Dogs are $250, Puppies are $300, and Popular Pure-Breeds are $400. The price includes: a Home Again Microchip, set of shots, de-worming, heartworm testing (if old enough), spay or neuter, and a 1 year rabies shot (if old enough). All dogs adopted must leave with a county license at an additional cost of $21, this fee is cash only. Adoption fees can be done using credit card or cash.
