He’s playful, affectionate, and always ready to soak up attention. Honestly, he just seems happy to be here — and happy to be loved.<br/><br/>Mike is good with other dogs, does great in the car, and walks nicely on a leash. He would love a buddy to play with, but he does need a home without cats. <br/><br/>After missing out on the carefree puppy days he deserved, he’s making up for it now — chasing toys, enjoying adventures, and fully committing to couch snuggles when the day is done.<br/><br/>He’d love an active home that will keep him included, let him be his goofy self, and remind him every day that he’s safe and loved. Mike’s been through a lot, but he’s ready to give his whole heart to his person. <br/><br/>Mike is a handsome German Shepherd mix. He is 5 years old and weighs 70 lbs.<br/><br/><br/><br/>ADOPTING A PET<br/>We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment during weekdays.<br/><br/>If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.<br/><br/>Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).<br/><br/>FOSTERING<br/>Can't commit to adoption but still want to help us save lives? Consider fostering by filling out our foster application at https://www.kckpd.org/Animal-Services/Foster-a-Pet. All supplies are provided.
