Midas's Story

Meet Midas — a gentle soul with a heart of gold.

Midas is one of those dogs you don't forget. Quietly resilient and deeply loving, he's the kind of companion who forms a bond that runs deep. He's simply waiting for a forever family to show him that his best days are still ahead.

When Midas first came into rescue, he was severely underweight and had clearly gone without the care he deserved. But with a thoughtful refeeding plan and plenty of love, he's been steadily gaining strength—and confidence. Watching him fill out, both physically and emotionally, has been nothing short of incredible.

Midas truly shines in the company of other dogs. He would thrive in a home with a confident, well-balanced canine companion who can continue to show him the ropes. He looks to other dogs for reassurance and learns beautifully by example.

He's also a wonderfully gentle boy—good with cats and kind with kids—making him a great fit for many types of families. He already knows basic commands and has excellent house manners.

One thing to know about Midas: he does not do well in a kennel and becomes anxious when confined. The good news? He does beautifully when left out in the home, settling in calmly and showing just how trustworthy he is.

Midas isn't just looking for a place to live—he's looking for safety, patience, and love. In return, he'll give you unwavering loyalty, quiet companionship, and the kind of gratitude you can feel every single day.

If you're ready to give this golden-hearted boy the life he's been waiting for, Midas is ready to meet you.

If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org.

Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional's recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal's history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.

The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.

The Rescue Crew's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet through The Rescue Crew! Your desire to provide a loving forever home to a rescued animal helps us in our shared goal to “Save a Life Today.” We are a completely volunteer-run, foster-based rescue, which means all of our animals live in home environments—not kennels—while they await adoption. This allows us to learn as much as possible about each pet’s personality, preferences, and needs so we can help make the best possible match for both the animal and the adopter. Our adoption process may take a little time, and you might notice we ask a lot of questions. That’s because we want to ensure a lasting and happy match for everyone involved. There are no “right” or “wrong” answers—these questions simply help us guide you toward the pet who will fit best with your family, lifestyle, and expectations. Many of the animals who come into our care have faced hardship, uncertainty, or even the risk of euthanasia. Our mission is to give them a second chance—and to place them in loving, responsible, lifelong homes where they can finally feel safe and secure. If you see an animal you’re interested in, please submit an application through our website at www.rescuecrew.org/adoption-basics as soon as possible. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it will help ensure your place in line for that animal—or another pet who might be a perfect match. Thank you for choosing adoption and for helping us continue our lifesaving work. Together, we’re giving hope and homes to animals who need them most.
