Hes recently been neutered, so we cant technically call him a stud anymore—but he is still stunning!.<br/><br/>Mickey is a male, 3-year-old, 30-pound, miniPit Bull mix with a soft brindle coat, soulful eyes, and a playful personality thats impossible not to love.<br/><br/>Mickey came to New Start Dog Rescue after being found abandoned in a rural area of central Illinois, tied to a tree. He was severely underweight, dehydrated, and understandably scared. Thanks to the love and care of his foster family, hes now healthy, at a normal weight, and his true personality is emerging. His past may have been difficult, but it certainly didnt break his spirit.<br/><br/>Today, Mickey is energetic, affectionate, goofy, and always ready for fun. Theres a good chance he spent much—or even all—of his life as a stray, but hes quickly embraced the comforts of home. Soft blankets, regular meals, belly rubs, and toys are now some of his favorite things. In fact, he likes to gather every toy he can find and play with them all at once!<br/><br/>Mickey is recently house-trained and is doing very well, though hell need continued consistency in his new home. He sleeps quietly in his crate at night, rides well in the car, and enjoys walks without pulling much. Hes even started jogging with his dog walker and absolutely loves it. Hes a smart boy who enjoys learning, so continued obedience training and socialization will help him become the best companion he can be.<br/><br/>Mickey would thrive with an active family, familiar with the energy and enthusiasm of bully breeds. Hell need a secure, above-ground fenced yard where he can safely run, explore, and burn off energy. He could do well with another dog in the house, especially one thats slightly larger and confident enough to keep up with his playful personality. Because of his excitement level, wed recommend a home with children ages 10 and older. He has not yet been tested with cats.<br/>Mickey has already overcome so much. We do not adopt out of the state of Illinois. Mickey is being fostered in a private home. Appointments to meet him will be set up for approved adopters only. His adoption fee is $300 which includes all age-appropriate vaccines. He is neutered, microchipped and Heartworm negative.
