MICK's Story

Meet Mick! Mick is a sweet, friendly, funny cattle dog mix. He is estimated to be 6 years old and is healthy, neutered, and fully vaccinated. Does anyone in your house need encouragement to eat their fruits and vegetables? Mick can help. He happily eats his dry dog food but also enjoys a wide variety of other foods: cauliflower, strawberries, bananas, chick peas, cilantro stems, salad (all sorts), Brussels sprouts, carrots, cherries.... You name it, he’ll try it and come back for more. He is not pesky about begging, but he enjoys being included when the time is right. Mick loves going for walks and is good on the leash. He also likes spending time outside. He has never tried jumping the 4-foot sections of stockade fence at his foster parent’s place, even when he clearly wishes to be on the other side. He is fully house trained. Mick enjoys receiving pets and cuddles, and especially scritches around the neck and ears, but he is not demanding about it. He is happy to cuddle up against you on the couch and sigh contentedly. He gives kisses once in a blue moon but is generally not a licker. He is easygoing and fine with being handled all over: paws, face, tail, etc. Mick wants to please and enjoys learning. He knows his foster parent likes him not to bark when he’s excited, so he has taught himself to grab his favorite stuffy and play with it instead of barking. He seems to classify cats along with squirrels as cute animals to chase, so he may not be the best cat roommate. He is occasionally reactive with other dogs, especially if taken by surprise, but he is making progress on this. He is good with all manner of adults and tweens, but has not been tested with younger kids. Mick is a wonderful dog, and his foster parent will happily answer any questions and arrange a meeting if he seems like a good fit for your home.
